Those entering community college deserve the opportunity to leave with an in-demand career certification or a first-class education that transfers to the university level. As a mother, I’ve experienced the struggles of our educational system, and as a Board Member, I engage with our community at various schools throughout the District. I work with parents, teachers, and community leaders to set goals and standards for our schools' performance and our students' education.
For the last four years, I have served on the San José Evergreen Community College District Board of Trustees and have consistently stood up to ensure a place in our community college system for everyone regardless of where they grew up.
Since being elected to the San José Evergreen Community College Board of Trustees, I have led efforts to expand our district’s services to East San José and worked towards supporting students looking to pursue their educational careers by having available courses and strong faculty to assist our students throughout the process. I have also supported various in-demand certification programs so our students can leave our colleges and enter today’s workforce with the skills needed to succeed. I will continue to work for students and faculty alike if re-elected to the board.
